When Corrie Sanders demolished Wladimir Klitschko inside two rounds before a stunned Hannover crowd in March 2003 he stuck a thorn in the side of the heavyweight division. In defeating the man hailed as the natural successor to Lennox Lewis, the veteran South African also exposed a chronic dearth of talent among the big men.
As Sanders was still coming to terms with his momentous triumph, he was approached by Klitschko's elder brother, Vitali, who had been working his sibling's corner. Pointing a finger at the newly-crowned World Boxing Organisation champion, Vitali snarled: "You fight me next." Sanders was unfazed, though. "I've knocked out your brother and I'll do you next," he growled.
